* Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine - a medical system that has been
used for thousands of years to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease. Qi
(the body’s vital energy) flows along meridians throughout the body and
keeps a person’s spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical health in balance.
Oriental medicine aims to restore the body’s balance and harmony between
the natural opposing forces of yin and yang, which can block qi and cause
disease. Oriental medicine includes acupuncture, dietary recommendations,
Chinese herbal therapy, meditation, physical exercise, and massage. |
* Acutonics Sound Therapy - a form of sound healing that involves the
application of tuning forks specially tuned to natural healing frequencies on
acupuncture points. |
* Health and Life Coaching - a practice geered toward people who want
to improve their lives in specific ways, such as changing careers, finding a
healthy relationship, taking their business to a new level, losing weight or
deepening self-understanding to reflect clients’ personal values and priorities.
It differs from therapy in that the focus is more on the present and future
than the past, and more on goals and behaviors than emotional patterns. |
* Psychotherapy - or personal counseling with a psychotherapist, is an
intentional interpersonal relationship used by trained psychotherapists to
aid a client to increase the individual’s sense of well-being. Psychotherapists
employ a range of techniques based on experiential relationship building,
dialogue, communication and behavior change and that are designed to
improve the mental health of a client or patient, or to improve group
relationships such as a family.

What to expect:
During the first visit, the
patient and practitioner will discuss the primary reason for the appointment, and
information will be
gathered regarding the
patient’s health history. A
treatment plan will be
constructed that is
specialized for the
patient’s AOM diagnosis,
and it will involve one or
more of the following
elements of treatment:
Acupuncture involves the
insertion of sterile and
single use, solid, hair-thin
needles through the skin.
Patients usually find their
treatments relaxing and
enjoyable.
Chinese herbs may be
prescribed for particular
conditions.
Medicinal Herbs
Tuina (Chinese massage)
will often be incorporated
into the treatment plan for
musculoskeletal pain and
relaxation.
The goal of Taiji & Qigong
is to enhance flexibility,
balance, and strength,
both physically and
