Originally from Aspen, Colorado, Nykole Coombs, LMT, has returned to her Colorado roots after living in San Diego where she practiced as a body worker for 15 years.
Nykole works on all energetic, physiological, and structural levels with her specializations in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (CST), Thai Massage therapy, and therapeutic relaxation massage.
As a prior ski-racer, Nykole’s interest in massage was sports related until she broke her neck and ankle in a snowboarding accident. This served as her awakening to the body/mind connection. As a patient she turned to the gentleness of CST to heal her trauma. This fascinating and effective experience led her to study CST in Northern California and become certified as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Practitioner.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on, but non-invasive treatment. It is focused on a person’s whole health system, especially the nervous system. This is the system that sends and receives information in the body, thus dictating all of the body’s functions. The therapist is trained for years in perceiving subtle physiological changes, and understanding how an optimally functioning nervous system performs. Through this work, Nykole learned to open space for the body’s inherent and natural wisdom to heal itself by helping to regulate the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, thus assisting the nervous system in bringing itself back into balance.
Nykole provides CST to treat severe neck pain, hormonal imbalance, interrupted sleep, and to aid in emotional and physical recovery. CST has naturally become an integral part of Nykole’s therapeutic relaxation massage because it softens the tissues and allows her to move into the deeper structures that support long-term change. As a yogini, Nykole loves giving Thai Massage because she recognizes that the deep stretches within Thai massage are beneficial in setting the stage for feeling the subtle shifts that CST facilitates.
Nykole has led retreats where women explore their feminine and masculine polarities though their chakras. She also enjoys teaching Qigong.
Since Nykole was twelve years old she has developed her intuitive side which aids her in recognizing how to treat your body most effectively. She is delighted to be practicing at Healing Horizons Integrated Health Solutions and being a part of the Grand Valley community!
